FUCK ebata is good

Why does most of Ebata's best work fall into super forgettable and usually poorly animated shows? I want this guy on some kind of star-studded production to really show his stuff - like a Shingo Natsume anime or something. He's absolutely incredible.

Ebata has established himself as a reliable OP/ED One Man Army, so he gets requests like that. Since that part of the production is totally unrelated to the rest of the series (especially since he makes them all by himself) and most TV action anime is mediocre, this is bound to happen.

As far as I'm concerned his actual best work is in the Yama no Susume S2 episode he solo key animated though, and that was a fantastic series which lots of talent. I still find his very particular rhythm when animating people more interesting that his admittedly cool action.
